I watched the live-action adaptation of the popular doujin work 'Can You Choke Me?', and it's a divisive piece. As a fan of the original, I was disappointed that the inner depths—such as the male tutor's hidden madness beneath his serious facade and the female student's self-destructive desires—weren't fully captured. Scenes like hair-pulling and leash-handling felt slack and lacked intensity, with insufficient allure from the actress, leaving me wanting more. On the other hand, Maihiro Yui's gagging sounds and fellatio scenes were a first-time revelation; her cute face contrasted with lewd expressions was highly arousing and hit me right in the groin. Yūta Aoi's portrayal of twisted desire was hardcore and engaging, but overall, it felt like a mere imitation of the original, making me wish for actresses with better acting skills. While I acknowledge the challenges of live-action adaptations, I have high hopes for Yui's new ventures.
